About Us

Background

Founded and managed by the Little Sisters of St. Francis congregation in the Eastern region in May 2006, Mama Kevina Comprehensive Secondary School is a mixed, day and boarding post-primary educational institution providing both academic and vocation oriented education to students mostly from socio-economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds in the upcountry district of Tororo, Uganda East Africa.

Housed in a rented two-classroom block, the school started with 34 boys and 40 girls of between 13 to 23 being taught subjects like Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Geography, Christian Religious Education, History, Commerce, Accounts, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics and Fine Art on top of Cookery, Tailoring and Carpentry because our conviction is that in the local circumstances of impoverishment and unemployment even among successful school completers, only a good mix of theory and vocation oriented education will empower the learners for gainful employment and fruitful adult life upon completion of schooling.
